Jesus has called each of us in our lives to …..
FOLLOW HIM
John 8:12 Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”
Deut 13:4 It is the LORD your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him.

Joshua 14:14 Therefore Hebron became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite to this day, because he wholly followed the LORD, the God of Israel.
Following Jesus means we won’t have to walk in darkness, we will be worthy of Him it we take up our cross, we will be blessed and we will possess everything He has in store for us.
PREACH THE GOSPEL
The second thing Jesus calls us to do is “Preach the Gospel”. Also known as the Great Commission this is an unspoken mandate for every Christian – when something good happens to us don’t we want to go out and share it with everyone –especially on social media these days – so how much more the gospel which is called Good News??Mark 16:15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
Acts 10:42 And he ordered us to preach everywhere and to testify that Jesus is the one appointed by God to be the judge of all—the living and the dead.

Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Luke 4:43 but He said to them, “I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent.”
Matthew 28:19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Acts 28:31 preaching the kingdom of God and teaching the things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ with all confidence, no one forbidding him
Mark 16:20 And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen.
FULFIL HIS PURPOSES
Finally, Jesus Calls us to fulfil the purposes He has for us
So… how do we know that He has a purpose for each of us??
Let’s turn to Ephesians 2:10 (ESV version) which says “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” The NLT version says, ‘For we are God’s masterpiece’ and another translation says ‘handiwork’. The Greek word for workmanship is poiema which is where we get the English word poem from …. how beautiful that we are God’s poem… Isn’t it amazing that God thinks so highly of us that he calls us His ‘masterpiece’ This is something we should have at the forefront of our minds every day. He has already prepared the good works we need to accomplish during our time here on earth and all we need to do is walk in them. God is our GPS all we need to do is follow the path He has laid out for us. Check out the next blog to dig deeper into the purpose God has for you.
